History

The history of the founding of Schendel & Pawlaczyk Messebau GmbH had its origins way back in 1982, even if the company had to wait for another 9 years to become a reality. This is when Rainer Pawlaczyk started his interior design studies at the Higher Technical College Lippe in Detmold. Only 4 years later, he was working as a trade show architect with a trade fair contractor in Münster and thus paved the way towards independency. In July 1989, the trade fair agency Rainer Pawlaczyk seated in Münster was established, in a 30 sq.m large basement office.

The company’s ascent didn’t take long: in January 1990, Rainer Pawlaczyk won a trade fair stand competition of PUK Werke from Berlin, where he made contact with his future business partner, Frank Schendel. At that time, Frank Schendel was working in the marketing department of PUK Werke following his business administration studies. The two embarked on a joint project that would give rise to even more work together.. In October 1990, Frank Schendel established his first own trade fair agency in Berlin. Only a short time later, in February 1991, he founded Schendel & Pawlaczyk Messebau GmbH together with Rainer Pawlaczyk, with its headquarters in Münster at Nottulner Landweg.

The acquisition of a commercial building in Münster-Roxel followed in March 1991. A 750 sq.m large hall and 160 sq.m of office space was sufficient at first. But as the order volume increased, so did the staff of Schendel & Pawlaczyk. While the staff had 11 people in 1991, by 1994 it had increased to 25 staff members, and by 1997 to 32 staff. After eight years, the old site proverbially burst at its seams and in October 1999, now with a staff of 40 people, the company moved to a newly built commercial building in Münster-Roxe. Premises of 4000 sq.m, approx. 1750 sq.m of covered area, partially with an intermediate level, and 560 sq.m of office space provided for new dimensions at Schendel & Pawlaczyk.

In 2003, the logical step of going north followed with the foundation of the Hamburg-based subsidiary Schendel & Pawlaczyk Messebau Hamburg. Since that time, the operations there are being managed by Jörg Dreger as managing director. With this additional expansion, Schendel & Pawlaczyk today has a staff of some 52 people. In June 2005, and the last expansion for the immediate future: the completion of a newly built warehouse with approx. 1600 sq.m of covered space and state-of-the-art storage systems directly on land adjacent to the Hamburg headquarters. With this, Schendel & Pawlaczyk carries out its business today with a total surface of 3350 sq.m. + + +
